I didn't give up on the exercising. I just had to take (several) days off to recover from the injury to my foot. Which frustrated me to no end, especially since I had been so good about sticking to my workouts and then I get something that could necessitate painful foot surgery if it's not taken care of. So off the foot I stayed. It was nice to have an excuse not to exercise, but boy did I feel like a fat slob.
So today my foot still hurt a little, but I told myself to get over it and hopped on the treadmill for a 30-minute session. It wasn't as vigorous as before - I didn't go above 3.6 and a 2.0 incline - but it still got my heart rate up and made me sweat a little, which I figure is better than nothing.
Sometimes I feel like a fraud. I do a lot of health and fitness stories for various magazines and here I am not following any of the good advice in my stories. Bah.
