Lots has been going on in the Jen household. Like major lifestyle changes. Mark is getting ready to interview for jobs in the chemical engineering field. For months he has bellyached over not having a job, still being a student, bla bla bla. So now he has an actual interview. I came in to talk to him when he was on the computer one day, and he announced that he wants to major in history instead. Talk about a total 180.
Switching to history would mean more than a simple change of major. It means that he would lose his fat scholarship and possibly not get another one. It means if he was lucky enough to become a TA, he'd get paid less than he's getting now. It means we'd be in Austin another 5 years. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because I like Austin and I don't want to leave. It's a bad thing because I've been looking forward to getting a new house, new furniture and having a grownup life. That won't happen if Mark stays in school. But who cares, money is nothing compared to happiness.
Ah, well. My exercise has gotten back on track and I think I'm finally going below the 130 I've been at forever. I worked out Friday, Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, and I'm working out today. The other day I did 50 minutes of cardio. Go me.
