Tell me I don't rock when it comes to shopping. Just tell me. Here are my steals for the weekend:
Bath & Body Works:
1 Toasted Hazelnut Shower Gel
1 Honeyed Almond Creamy Shower Gel
1 Red Currant Body Lotion
1 Aromatherapy Chamomile Neroli Body Lotion
1 Foot Scrubby Pumice/Foot Brush Thingy
1 White Ginger & Amber Body Lotion
GRAND TOTAL: $19.49 (Granted, I did have a $10-off coupon, and all of this stuff was on clearance, but still. I got all this for less than I would have paid at Target.)
Foley's:
1 red tank (which I am returning - it just doesn't look good now that I think about it)
Damn it. I was planning on going home right about now, because I thought my boss had headed out for the day. I was thisclose to shutting down my PC and walking the hell out of here when he walked back in. Damn damn damn. Looks like I will be here until 4 at least. Which isn't so bad, but then again it could be 5. I really want to get out early and beat most of the Mopac traffic.
This weekend I'm going to a 4th of July party at my aunt's and then we'll go out and watch fireworks over the lake. It will be fun. Pina coladas are supposed to be abundant so I guess I will have one. Or two or three.
I'm actually dragging my ass to yoga tonight, even though there will probably be only one or two other people there. Once I went and I was the only student that showed up. It was nice...like a private yoga lesson.
I'm thinking about getting into Spinning. They offer it like eighteen million times a day at the various gyms I go to (there's like 3 locations within a short distance, so I switch around), and the people who go in and come out of the Spinning rooms are all really physically fit. So perhaps I will give it a try. I hope I don't lose a lung.
I'm back on the horse. I will be going to kundalini yoga tonight. I might as well - I think there are only two sessions left or something, anyway. Then after that we are going to get groceries and pick up something for dinner. I need to figure out what we're going to make this week - we usually make a menu for the next 7 days and buy our groceries accordingly. I just found a neat recipe book while cleaning out my company's basement this morning, so perhaps I'll make something out of there.
Things don't look good for me as far as aerobic exercise goes. My left ankle is starting to ache again. This happens occasionally, and when it does it means no running under any circumstances. Which frustrates the hell out of me, because I love doing sprints on the treadmill to boost the calorie burning. Just walking feels like doing nothing to me. Sigh.
This weekend was good. We did a lot more stuff than normal. On Friday we went to my friend's birthday celebration at Saba. It was a pretty cool place and we went at happy hour, which made all drinks half-price. (Otherwise, Mark's Guinness would have been $7 - ack!). Then we went home and watched Punch-Drunk Love, which was, err, interesting. Then on Saturday we went to a Round Rock Express baseball game - they lost, but it was still fun.
Then on Sunday we pretty much just took it easy. For most of the day we were sprawled on separate couches reading, with the TV off. I sat down and read Camus' The Stranger all in one sitting. I was supposed to read it in high school, but I never did, and it was pretty entertaining. I feel all smart and stuff now. Next I want to try The Sun Also Rises, since it's sitting right there on my bookshelf, unread. I have so many good books that I got at yard sales or thrift stores and never opened. I need to work on that.
I also went to work out on Sunday, even though Mark refused to go. It was tough to get myself out the door and moving, but once I was there it was easier. I did 40 minutes cardio on the treadmill and elliptical trainer. Going on Sundays has pretty much become mandatory for me. On Mondays I usually don't want to set foot in the gym, because it's so crowded, so I normally take that day off. Then on Tuesdays I have this kundalini yoga class that really doesn't offer much in the way of physical benefits, so going on Sunday is a necessity. I hate going back after more than 1 or 2 days off. It's like my muscles are cold and they just don't want to move - running is painful. My fitness level just topples whenever I take a few days off, so I try not to.
