Kundalini yoga was, sadly, a disappointment. I went in with my towel and yoga mat, all ready to sweat and challenge my muscles. But it totally wasn't physical at all. Instead of doing the downward dog, we chanted. Instead of doing the tabletop pose, we sang. It was more of a hippie-dippie spiritual thing, which was actually cool. Just not what I was expecting.
Oh well, it's a really good way to meditate. I caught myself going "out of my head" at one point, which was really freaky and I had to open my eyes. Cool, huh?
Tonight is more cardio with Mark. I don't care what he says, we're going for a full 50 minutes. Especially since we have to drive to fucking Alabama this weekend and there won't be any opportunities for exercise.
Tonight is kundalini yoga, baby. I'm nervous. Again. What if I fall down or break my neck doing some weird kundalinish things? Oh well, I paid $60 for the damn class, can't back out now.
I kicked ass yesterday at the gym, partly because Mark wasn't there whining about how long I stayed. I did 50 minutes of cardio; I had been doing 45 when Mark was with me, and this makes a little bit of difference. I managed to snag a treadmill, which was a feat in and of itself on a manic Monday in the cardio room. I also did some work on the elliptical, which I've grown to like.
**Quick aside: Coworker, whom I love dearly, has been dragging her feet on getting something done for me. I gave the info to her Friday and told her I needed it Monday. Here it is Tuesday, almost quitting time, and she hasn't gotten it done. Argh.**
Anyway, so I need to change into my yoga duds right about now, because I'm heading out at 5 so I can pick up Mark and the two of us can look for a parking space near UT. The damn class is in the Student Union, of all places, and parking in a visitor garage would cost $7. I should have just signed up for a few classes at the local yoga center. Oh well, lesson learned.
