I had a whole long entry about my wedding, working out and my mom...but IE crashed and it's gone forever. I'll try to hit the high points and blog again later today.

Finally, some exercise...I managed to get to the gym yesterday and do 45 very satisfying minutes of cardio. Even though I was miserable and panting during the sprints, I felt really good. I didn't realize how important exercise had become to me, until I stopped doing it. This time last year, I wasn't exercising at all. I was looking for jobs in Austin and eating Wendy's for lunch. Unbelievable how far I've come.

I got the courage to step on the scale last night after the gym and found that I have held steady on the weight loss. Actually, I lost 2 pounds, so now I'm 122. Nice, considering I started out at 140 last summer. Weight loss can be achieved, even for someone with no willpower like me.

Last night after the gym I went out and bought some more silk flowers at Michaels for the centerpieces. And ribbon, and pearl trim, and terra cotta pots, and paint...I went a little wild. I've actually decided that I'm going to try and sell some extra topiaries on Ebay next week. If they sell, who knows? I might just do this as a side business. I've enjoyed planning my wedding so much that I'm thinking I might want to do this as a career...but I could never give up my writing permanently.

Today is a mucho busy day for me. 11 a.m. meeting, 4 p.m. highlighting appointment, 6:30 p.m. SPJ meeting, 7:30 p.m. dress pickup...whew. But I WILL go to the gym tonight. It's yoga night and I couldn't miss it, since i probably won't be there next Thursday because of the wedding and all. We're having a bunch of people come into town on Wednesday and Thursday so I probably will have to entertain them...this sucks.

Going on five days with no exercise. And I feel like a big fat slug. Haven't had the courage to step on the scale and see if it's made a difference, though. hopefully today I'll be able to drag my ass through the ice to the gym and actually get moving.

I just ordered some bras and panties from Victoria's Secret. I am in serious need of new lingerie. I was trying on my wedding gown Monday and I had to take off my white bra. Well, I noticed that it was getting a little worn - so worn that the fabric had a gray tinge to it. So I'm thinking that I might need some new bras - and I ordered two. They were only $12 each. Good deal.

Nobody is at work today. I can see why - most places are still iced over and it's tough to get around. I went out to my car this morning and it was covered in ice. I turned on the engine and started blasting the defrost and rear defogger, but they weren't doing any good. So I got out of my car and started trying to scrape using the edge of a water bottle I had in the back seat. Well, I hadn't been scraping for 2 seconds when this guy with a black trench coat and bleached-blond hair appears out of nowhere with an ice scraper and does my back window, windshield and side windows in about 3 minutes. It's like he was the Ice Fairy or something. Weird. I hope he lives in my building so I can thank him next time I see him.

Wedding plans are closing in on me pretty fast. I still need to get my sisters' lockets engraved and get some little tags printed up for the topiaries (of which one still remains to be done). I need to call the reception and rehearsal dinner sites and see if they still need menus printed up. I need to pick up my dress tomorrow. I am still waiting for my headband to come in. Wow. I better stop thinking about all this or I'll freak out.

Jack Frost has arrived in Austin. Seriously. Last week I was wearing shorts to check the mail, tonight I'm putting on gloves and earmuffs and taking blunt objects outside to hammer the ice off of my car. Some kind of freak winter storm came along and shut down the whole town today. We managed to go out for a little while so I could mail a book to someone (I sell used books on Amazon.com), and to the mall for Mark to look for groomsmen gifts, but other than that we stayed put. Most people didn't even go to work today.

And here's the worst part - because of the marriage workshop and the weather, I haven't exercised since Thursday. Here's where a nice treadmill at home would do some good. Yesterday the weather was starting and I didn't want to risk getting stranded, and today it's just too icky and icy to go. I may do a 20-minute yoga tape this evening, but other than that I've been sedentary. I am really trying to watch my calories, though, and hopefully the lack of movement won't make too much of a difference on the scale. Yesterday I did do a really lame 20-minute Denise Austin tape (the cardio part), so I guess that's better than nothing.

On the wedding front, things are progressing. I've got an appointment for highlights on Thursday, and on Saturday I'm going to see my stylist in San Antonio for a practice run. We're also going to listen to our musicians and make sure they can perform well. I got my silver lockets in the mail today for my sisters; I'm going to get them engraved with their initials.

Brr, I'm getting cold just writing this (the office is drafty). Must find low-cal hot chocolate...
